However, we can't help but admit that in terms of the overall situation of the whole people, compared with many developed countries and regions, China's gap is relatively large.Reading, as the process of human cultural heritage and knowledge cognition, is often a slow and deep process of still deep water.Reading for the whole people is to mobilize the people to develop good reading habits, and it is an endless and long task.To improve the reading situation of the whole people, we need to make long -term efforts.This long -term efforts need to be done well to investigate and evaluate the reading status of the whole people.
When reading has become a social problem, we should use social surveys and evaluation methods to study it.If there are no scientific investigations and evaluations, how do we know how many percentage of people in a city are reading, and how much positive effect can be achieved by the whole people's reading activities that year and year after year?In 2011, Hunan Province issued a report on the Urban Reading Index in the province, trying to establish a scientific and objective urban reading index system, to effectively examine the status and public reading environment of residents in the province, through the establishment of the indicator system, realize time and space in time and spaceThe comparability of the above, with the real and visible data, the development and changes.In 2013, Beijing launched the first urban reading index survey. Through in -depth inspection of factors such as the reading volume, reading frequency, reading type, reading consciousness, and participation of reading activities in 16 districts and county residents in the city, comprehensively calculated the quantitative reading index.Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province released the first resident reading survey report. The results of the survey showed that in 2013, the book reading rate of residents aged 18 to 70 in Suzhou was 63.3%, which was 8.4 percentage points higher than China.Undoubtedly, regarding the results of these investigations and evaluations, as long as the local government departments take it seriously, take the right medicine, and continuously improve their work, it will definitely help the improvement of the local people's reading status.
When reading has become a social problem, we should also put reading questions on a larger social platform to study and deal with.In March 2012, at the Fifth Session of the Eleventh National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, I and 13 members of the CPPCC of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference proposed a proposal to incorporate the city's reading status index into the civilized city index system.The reason for this proposal is to effectively examine and evaluate the current status of the city's reading and public reading environment, continuously improve the reading status of the city, and arrange and check the development of the whole people on the large platform created by civilized cities.
